The theme this year is Managing Safety - Maximising Performance and this year the emphasis will be on the practical contributions of human factors to aviation safety.  The symposium wil showcase recent activities from industry, as well as the latest applied research.

Surface Transport Human Factors Seminar

Rail and road transport present a high-risk environment in which breakdowns in safety are frequently catastrophic.  In recent years human factors practitioners have been involved in significant projects to improve the safety of surface transport in Australia.  From new driver support and in-cab technologies, innovative treatments at rail level crossings, through to intelligent vehicle systems, human factors science is currently informing a new generation of surface transport safety improvements.

The Surface Transport Human Factors Seminar will showcase the latest research and initiatives in Australia and provide an opportunity for interested parties to contribute to the future directions of research and practice in this important area.

Speakers include leaders in the field from Australia and attendees will be able to take away innovative solutions for their own organisations.
