Professional Development

National Professional Development Programme

This programme forms part of the Strategic Plan adopted by the HFESA Board in 2007.

A National Professional Development Committee was formed in November 2007 and HFESA has engaged a National Professional Development Officer, Stroma Lawson.

Professional Development is considered to include activities which increase the human factors and ergonomics competencies of members, or otherwise enhance members’ capacity to contribute to the aims of the Society.

Professional Development Plans for 2010

Thursday 28 January 2010

The PD Co-ordinator and PD Committee are currently planning the programme of events for 2010. The aim is to provide a varied series of events, up to a maximum of 12 during the year. This will depend on the availability of speakers and the ability of Branches to host events. Some of the workshops from 2009 will be repeated in other states where there is demand. The PD Committee has also begun exploring other ways of presenting PD information, such as webinars and podcasts, which will progress further in 2010.
