 en Sesame: Exploring the openability of hospital food and beverage packagi
 ng for the over 65s”. PhD research examined the ‘openability’ of hos
 pital food and beverage packaging by the older consumer – to ultimately 
 influence the design of the packaging for ease of opening and therefore nu
 tritional intake.\n\nAbout Alison Bell:\nAlison is a Certified Professiona
 l Ergonomist and Occupational Therapist. Her key research area is the open
 ability of food and beverage packaging by older adults within institutiona
 l and community settings. In 2016\, Alison was awarded the Human Factors a
 nd Ergonomics Association (HFESA) David Ferguson Award for the best ergono
 mics research conducted in Australia within the previous 18 months for thi
 s work.\nAlison has a varied career\, working initially as a clinical Occu
 pational Therapist in Australia and the UK and then the field of Occupatio
 nal Health and Safety for almost 30 years\, with roles in injury managemen
 t\, safety management\, workers compensation\, ergonomics and human factor
 s. She has been involved in work-related research for the NSW and Commonwe
 alth Governments.\nAlison is passionate about ergonomics and its applicati
 on across different domains.\nShe is the HFESA representative on the Austr
 alian Occupational Health &amp\; Safety Education Accreditation Board (AOH
 SEAB) and Treasurer of the HFESA 2017 Annual Conference.\n\nView flyer
