SUMMARY:SIA Call For Papers - Deadline 7 Dec
DESCRIPTION:The Conference\n\nThe Safety Institute of Australia (SIA) has i
nvited the HFESA to present an ergonomics stream as a part of their #SAFET
YSCAPE Convention being held in Sydney between 22-23 May 2019 at the Sydne
y International Convention Centre.\n\nA recent Monkey survey was forwarded
to HFESA members and we are coordinating a half day ergonomics stream to
be included as part of the overall conference.\n\nWe envisage this stream
will include a mix of case studies\, projects and research.\n\nThe SIA has
capacity to consider any Ergonomics workshops as part of their conference
stream and these will be considered in addition to the HFESA half day erg
onomics stream.\n\nThe SIA has requested that all submissions should addre
ss how the concept or research can be translated from theory into real lif
e work for practitioners and professionals.\n\nEssentially any area of int
erest you would have as a practicing Ergonomist / Human Factors profession
al / researcher would be appropriate\, so please just assume whatever topi
c you would like to present would be a good fit\, be it transport\, manual
handling\, cognitive etc. It would probably be a plus to have a diverse r
ange of interests and a mix of practitioners and researchers. Anything fro
m a case study from your practice to a more theoretical presentation and e
verything in between would be appropriate.\n\nInformation on submission ca
tegories\n\nOral presentations will be limited to 25 minutes for the prese
ntation followed by five minutes of questions and should present original
new findings and contributions to the field.\n\nNote that oral presentatio
ns will not be restricted to research submissions. Practitioners are encou
raged to submit case studies.\n\nPoster presentations\n\nDetails of maximu
m size of posters will be advised prior to conference registration. Poster
s are likely to be displayed in social or networking areas at the conferen
ce. This will be dictated by the SIA.\n\nWorkshops\n\nWorkshop proposals c
an be submitted for two-hour\, four hour or whole day workshops. Workshops
are designed to be based around activities or demonstrations and submissi
ons will need to outline what participants will learn from the session\, a
s well as what participants will do in the session (i.e. specify the types
of activities or strategies that will be employed.)\n\nWhen?\n\nSubmissio
ns are required by the 7 December 2018\n\nHow to make a submission\n\nSub
missions will be made by emailing Sharon Todd at Sharon_Todd@me.com\n\nDis
counted Registration\n\nThe SIA will offer discounted registration for all
HFESA members. Details will follow.\n\nTrade Stand at the Conference\n\nW
e are currently in discussions with the SIA about a trade stand to promote
the HFESA at this conference. Further details will follow.\n\nQuestions?\
