DESCRIPTION:\nSite visit to Legacy Way Control Room\nPresented by Michael E
 yles\, Networks Tunnel Manager\n\nLegacy Way is a 4.6 km twin tunnel conne
 cting the Western Freeway (M5) in Toowong to the Inner city Bypass (ICB). 
  World-class safety features include variable speed and message signs\, a
 dvanced fire safety systems and cameras automatically detecting variations
  in traffic flow. Legacy Way was opened to traffic in June 2015. The Legac
 y Way Traffic Control Room also manages the ICB\, a 4.5km motorway that by
 passes the Brisbane CBD and connects the Pacific Motorway and GBB Bridge a
 t Hale Street to Kingsford Smith drive\, Clem7 and AirportLink tunnels.\nT
 he control room is staffed 24 hours a day and responds to traffic incident
 s and manages minor upgrades and routine maintenance of the tunnel’s sta
 te-of-the-art systems. The Traffic Incident Management Service provided ma
 nages transportation of dangerous goods\, motor vehicle accidents\, debris
  recovery\, vehicular and heavy vehicular breakdowns\, cyclist incidents\,
  animals on the road and contraflows.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nIf you missed the 
 visit to the CLEM 7 Control Room last year\, then this is a great opportun
 ity to see an incredible facility in action.\n\nFollowing the site visit t
 here will be the opportunity to meet up somewhere close by for a Christmas
  drink and to stay on for a meal should you wish to do so.  This will be 
 at attendees own cost.  Venue TBA.\n\nPlease note that parking is very li
 mited in the vicinity of the Control Room complex - it is suggested you co
 nsider taking public transport to this event.\n\nVenue: Legacy Way Control

 front of building at 1.50pm)\n\nEvent is FREE but numbers are strictly lim
