Join the WA Branch and SIA Wa Branch for their next PD event: Potential Impact of Hospitalisation for Patients with Dementia.

Join us for an insightful gathering on Wednesday 20 September 2017, to explore the potential impact of hospitalisation for patients with dementia, which can present challenges and lead to poor outcomes.

We will look at some simple strategies to engage with patients and family to enable better outcomes for all involved.

Your Speaker

Julie Lomas

Julie Lomas qualified as a Registered Nurse in the UK.

She worked extensively in aged care, supporting people living in their own homes, in residential care and in acute care. Julie moved to Perth, WA and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science.

She subsequently worked for Red Cross, WA in the social sphere of supporting people living with dementia: this involved the recruitment of volunteers to undertake the work state-wide.

After completing a Certificate 1V in training and Assessment Julie now works for Alzheimer’s WA, training hospital staff to achieve better outcomes for patients with cognitive impairment.

This event is a join initiative by the Safety Institute of Australia & HFESA
