Valerie provides consultancy services, specialising in work health and safety, and ergonomics and human factors. Starting with a degree in applied health sciences (prosthetics and orthotics), Valerie has had roles as Chief Advisor – Human Factors with SafeWork SA – the OHS regulatory agency in South Australia and Assistant Director with the the Australian Safety and Compensation Council (now Safework Australia) where she worked in policy development, research, compliance and enforcement. Valerie also has long experience as a specialist OHS and quality management systems auditor with an industry-leading certification body working nationally with a variety of organisations and industries, particularly construction; healthcare; aged care; auto, metal, food and beverage manufacturing; retailing and wholesaling, telecommunications and government. Valerie currently researches human factors in technology adoption in workplaces with a focus on manufacturing and an interest in healthcare
